Biden touts law enforcement plan while attacking 'MAGA' lawmakers

President Joe Biden had a message for lawmakers who defended the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol as he touted his Safer America Plan Tuesday. "Let me say this to my 'MAGA Republican' friends in Congress," the president said, referring to former President Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan. "Don't tell me to support law enforcement if you won't condemn what happened on the sixth." "For God's sake, whose side are you on?" Biden said. Biden admonished the lawmakers as he called for more funding for police before a crowd at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Investments in community policing and crime prevention are key policy components of his Safer America Plan, and the president urged communities to use federal funds to supplement local police as early as May. Biden also chided Trump's supporters in the GOP for claiming the mantle as the "law and order" party while defending the insurrectionists who attacked police officers in Washington, D.C., last year. "You can't be pro-law enforcement and pro-insurrection," he said. "You can't be a party of law and order and call the people who attacked the police on Jan. 6, patriots. You can't do it." Biden recently slammed the "MAGA philosophy" as "like semi-fascism," which angered the Republican National Committee. RNC spokesperson Nathan Brand called the president's remarks "despicable."

Biden also renewed his commitment to banning assault weapons, saying America's lax gun laws contributed to mass shootings in Uvalde, Texas; Newtown, Connecticut; and Buffalo, New York, among other locations. "It's time to hold every elected official's feet to the fire and ask them, 'Are you for banning assault weapons? Yes or no?' The answer's no, vote against them," he said. Biden ended his speech by asking the crowd to vote for Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. and Democratic senatorial candidate, John Fetterman. Fetterman is running against Trump-endorsed candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz in a highly publicized Senate race.

The president is scheduled to return to Pennsylvania Thursday for a prime-time speech on the "continued battle for the soul of the nation" at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia.

Iraq president encourages early elections to end political deadlock

President Barham Saleh says early legislative elections would be in line with the aspirations of the Iraqi people and would guarantee political and social stability.

Iraqi President Barham Saleh has encouraged early legislative elections to settle a political crisis that escalated into deadly clashes this week, killing dozens and wounding hundreds more. "Holding new, early elections in accordance with a national consensus represents an exit from the stifling crisis," Saleh said in a speech on Tuesday. "It guarantees political and social stability and responds to the aspirations of the Iraqi people". Early elections, less than a year after the last polls, have been a key demand of Shia Muslim cleric Muqtada al Sadr, whose supporters battled state security forces and Shia factions backed by neighbouring Iran in violence that started on Monday. Thirty Sadr supporters were shot dead and at least 570 others were injured after protesters stormed the government palace following their leader's announcement that he was quitting politics. President Saleh spoke hours after supporters of Sadr withdrew from Baghdad's Green Zone following the nearly 24 hours of clashes. READ MORE: Iraq's cleric Muqtada al Sadr quits politics
Months of political paralysis Sadr and his supporters have spearheaded calls for the dissolution of parliament and new legislative elections following months of political paralysis. Under the constitution, parliament can only be dissolved by an absolute majority vote in the house, following a request by one-third of deputies or by the prime minister with the approval of the president. Sadr's bloc emerged from last October's election as the biggest in the legislature, with 73 seats, but far short of a majority. Since then, the country has been mired in political deadlock due to disagreement between Shia factions over forming a coalition. In June, his lawmakers quit in a bid to break the gridlock. Sadr's supporters had for weeks been staging a sit-in outside Iraq's parliament, after storming the legislature's interior on July 30. Jerry Nadler beats Carolyn Maloney in NY House Democratic primary

Rep. Jerry Nadler will defeat his colleague Rep. Carolyn Maloney in a vicious House primary that locked the longtime New York Democrats in a battle for the heart of Manhattan, NBC News projected. The two lawmakers were pitted against each other after a redrawn district map spurred them to compete for a single seat in Congress. Nadler, 75, and Maloney, 76, have represented adjacent chunks of the island for about three decades. Both hold powerful seats in Congress: Nadler chairs the House Judiciary Committee, while Maloney leads the House Oversight Committee. Nadler's congressional district had included the Upper West Side, while Maloney's covered much of the eastern half of Manhattan. But their separate districts were combined in May, the result of a messy and highly controversial redistricting process. Both Nadler and Maloney announced they would run for the newly formed 12th Congressional District. Suraj Patel, who has challenged Maloney in two previous primary elections, was also on the ballot. Despite their long history, the primary fight between Nadler and Maloney was anything but neighborly. "He said, 'Step aside, I'm running.' And I said, 'Well, I'm running too. I'm not leaving,'" Maloney said in a New York Magazine profile of the race. "He said, 'I'm gonna win.' I said, 'I'm gonna win.' We haven't spoken since," she said. Maloney has also fanned rumors that Nadler won't serve out his full term if elected and that he's senile and unfit for office — charges Nadler's campaign has denied. Nadler has highlighted the differences in their voting records, saying Maloney has been "wrong on very major issues" including her "cowardly" vote for the Patriot Act, New York Magazine reported. Nadler has also made his Jewish faith a central part of his pitch to voters. Maloney, meanwhile, has sought to center her experiences as a woman in politics while touting her record on social issues — including abortion, a galvanizing topic in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to strike down Roe v. Wade. She has been endorsed by famed attorney and feminist activist Gloria Steinem. "You cannot send a man to do a woman's job," Maloney said in a recent television ad.

Correction: This report has been updated to correctly describe the area of Maloney's former congressional district.

Kalhor: With the holding of the football federation elections, we will reach the shore of peace/ special reward awaits the history makers of Iran in Konya

According to IRNA, Sina Kalhor On Saturday, in an exclusive interview with IRNA, the vice president of culture and development of public sports explained the most important measures taken in the past one year in the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

In response to the timely payment of bonuses to athletes and medalists, in an exclusive interview with IRNA, Kalhor said: During the various periods of holding the Olympics and World Games, it was unprecedented that the bonuses of medal winners were paid in a very short space of less than 2 months, but this happened and even the payment of this bonus It put the ministry in hardship and hardship, but still, the ministry preferred to be under this hardship and hardship, but the rewards of the athletes were not delayed. Even later, the ministry was criticized in this regard, and it was even said that you used to divide the bonuses into pieces like in the past and give a part this year and another part the next year. In fact, the issue of timely payment of bonuses was not paid as much as it should have been; While it was a good thing. Getting the satisfaction of the medal winning athletes was very effective and in my opinion, it was one of the important events of the government and especially the Ministry of Sports and Youth during the past year.

The reward of the medalists was paid from the Ministry's funds

He added: As you know, the reward of the medal winners was paid from the ministry's credit and was not outside the ministry's credit. This means that the Ministry shifted its priorities and placed its main priority on the payment of bonuses. In the previous periods, taxes were deducted from the champions' bonuses, but for the first time, no taxes were deducted during the payment of the Olympic and World Championship bonuses. Another event that we witnessed in this field was the payment of a podium to the Deaf Olympic medalists. In addition, there was a change in the amount of reward for the deaf. In the past, deaf athletes received nearly 20% of the rewards of Olympians, but in this period, they received nearly 60% of the rewards, which was a serious change. In addition, during the games of the Islamic countries held in Konya, the athletes received both the cash reward at the foot of their platform and the reward that was intended for them. Another important thing happened in the women's section, especially in fields such as handball, which recently achieved success. Before the deployment, the athletes were paid a part of the bonus amounts that were considered as participation in a particular competition for a team. Although this reward may not be a high amount, it is unprecedented. In football, futsal and some other disciplines that had won medals, based on the framework and regulations and the type of medal won, it was decided to pay the bonuses on time. In fact, the considered procedure was to pay the bonuses to the athletes on time.

A special reward awaits Iran's history makers in Konya

In response to the question of whether there is going to be a special reward to honor the history of Elham Hosseini, the Iranian weightlifter and the women's national volleyball team of our country, who succeeded in winning a medal for the first time in the Games of Islamic countries, he said: Yes. We have considered special rewards for special events that happen especially in the field of women's sports. Of course, I must say that during the sending to the games of Islamic countries, special privileges and positions were considered for women. In this way, a special reward is considered for those who make the first occurrence, but considering that the amount of this reward has not been decided yet, I cannot announce its amount.

The main purpose of amending the statutes is to help the flow of sports justice

In response to the actions taken in the direction of the development of sports justice, the vice president of culture and development of public sports, relying on the amendment of the statutes of the federations, said: the statutes of the sports federations have tried to solve some of the issues and problems of the federations. However, during the almost 8 months since the statute came into force, there have been challenges. Three to four paragraphs of these statutes need to be amended, which is on the agenda and a draft of it is going to be sent. If this happens, we can achieve the necessary justice that must be achieved in sports fields, so that all the powers, privileges and facilities are not given to only a few sports fields and other fields are deprived. The main purpose of amending the statutes is to help other disciplines to promote sports justice.

Football Federation elections will be held, we will reach the shore of peace

Kalhor, who in order to support the national football team for a successful participation in the World Cup, on behalf of the Ministry of Sports, recently visited Qatar, the host country of the World Cup, said: the advantage of the trip to Qatar was that in the seven axes, the issues that the national team We presented football is facing it in written form and in the form of an official report to various institutions. Almost three to four main cases, including players' bonuses, arrears of coaches and technical staff members, as well as part of the issues related to the logistics of the national team, were resolved with the support provided by the Ministry of Sports and the government. These were urgent matters that caused severe dissatisfaction in the national team, but thank God they were resolved. A number of cases were related to the preparation of the team to participate in FIFA Day 2 (September). According to the latest news that I have, plans have been made, preparatory meetings have been finalized and a camp has been planned in one of the countries with suitable weather conditions (camp in Austria); All in all, the issues related to the preparations and preparations of the national team have been completed, and I think that if we hold the elections of the football federation and the federation recognizes its president, we will reach the shore of peace.

The price of the most expensive World Cup ticket is 6 million

The vice-president of culture and development of public sports of the Ministry of Sports had previously emphasized in an interview with IRNA that the Ministry of Sports is seeking to provide travel packages for football fans to Qatar with a cost of less than 20 million Tomans. In his subsequent interviews with other media, Keller announced the costs of 45 million tomans. In response to the question that the packages of the World Cup are finally going to be provided to the applicants, he said: The packages include three parts; The price of tickets, flights and accommodation. Of course, ignoring the cost of feeding. Currently, the price of the most expensive World Cup ticket sold in the country is 6 million Tomans, and currently the Football Federation is selling tickets for the same amount. But the matter of accommodation and plane is a matter of discussion. If a domestic airline is able to transport the spectators, our prediction is that the cost of the spectators' round trip to Qatar will be between 10 and 12 million tomans. In this case, the accommodation fee remains. Previously, it was supposed that the return of spectators to Qatar would be daily so as not to impose the cost of accommodation on the spectators. If this happens, it would be possible to go to Qatar at almost the same price range of 20 million tomans. We are still trying to make this happen. Just last 2 days, I talked with the friends of the Ministry of Roads and they are trying to implement the daily package for sending spectators. There is another issue and that is that our friends in Kish have introduced a package that apparently no steps have been taken to implement it. The goal of the friends was to make the World Cup spectators stay in Kish and leave for Qatar from this island. In this case, the cost of traveling to Qatar will be around 35-40 million Tomans. Therefore, if the steps are implemented, if the spectators go to Qatar for a one-day trip from Tehran, the cost will be about 20 million tomans, and if they go to the host country of the World Cup with a three-to-four night stay in Kish, the cost will be almost 40 million tomans. .

We need a credit of 14 thousand billion to complete the projects

One of the actions of the Ministry of Sports during the past year was to conduct provincial trips, prevent new pickpocketing and complete half-finished projects in sports. Kalher said: Usually, three categories of actions are followed during the provincial trips of the Minister of Sports and his deputies; Completing the half-completed projects of large stadiums, completing multi-purpose halls, and constructing and completing artificial grass are on the agenda, and in provincial trips, credit is allocated for these three axes, and according to the priority of the Ministry of Sports, to prevent new projects from being picked up and the completion of half-completed projects. Almost a large part of the projects that have 80-90% progress have been completed during this period. Completion of sports projects in all areas, according to the announcement of the Minister of Sports, requires approximately 14 thousand billion tomans of credit so that we can say that all half-finished projects have been completed. Another goal of provincial trips is to resolve issues related to provincial delegations, which sometimes face legal challenges and some internal disputes, and this presence resolves issues. Another axis of provincial trips is related to the development and support of public and rural sports.

Privatization of the Magpies will help the health of football

Regarding the entry of Maghrabis into the stock market, which was one of the other important actions of the government in the last one year, Kalhor said: This was a great achievement, and after years of waiting, with the decision of the government and the ministry standing by this decision, the Maghrabis entered the stock market, and the first fruit of this happened. It was to clarify the contracts of the players so that the minimum overall figure of the contracts will be announced and we hope that the details of the contracts will also be clarified. After all, it is the shareholders' right to know what is happening. I hope that the privatization of Esteghlal and Persepolis will help the transparency and health of football. Perhaps one of the ways to overcome major football challenges is that our 2 important clubs entered the stock market and their shares are available to the public, the first step of which was the transparency of contracts, which helps to monitor and conclude better contracts.

Broadcasting and environmental advertising is a big step towards becoming a professional

In response to the Federation Football League's agreement to grant environmental advertisements to the clubs and the Magyars' acceptance of this, he said: This issue is one of the things that helps both the professionalization and income generation of clubs and the maintenance of sports facilities. As you know, more than 4-5 decades have passed since the life of Azadi Stadium and despite the high volume of competitions that are held in this complex, very few resources were allocated for its reconstruction, repair and maintenance. Allocating a part of the amount of contracts related to environmental advertising helped to maintain and repair sports facilities. Clubs could also earn significant income from environmental advertising. Of course, since it is the first years, there are differences between the contracted figure and the obtained figure, but this way has started and has now become a procedure, and if the issue of broadcasting rights is added to environmental advertising, it will be a big step for the professionalization of clubs, especially We have taken football clubs.

We are witnessing great developments in the field of youthfulness in sports

Regarding the actions taken in the direction of youthfulness in sports, Kalhor also said: The Council of Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, compared to other ministries, this ministry is one of the few institutions whose deputies are young, and in fact, the Minister of Sports, among his colleagues, promotes the slogan of youthism. has implemented The second point is that we are sports and youth, and one of the main priorities and missions of our youth deputy is to provide opportunities for political and social participation of youth, and the most important is the opportunity to be in governance positions in executive bodies rather than the opportunity to use force. Have youth to provide services. Friends have approved a plan by the Supreme Council of Youth and the idea of a young assistant is being pursued, and I think that if the statistics of the actions taken in the last 8 months are published, we will see great developments regarding the number of young people who have entered the executive body. Of course, we have a bigger horizon in mind.

Indiana funeral set for GOP Rep. Walorski killed in crash

GRANGER, Ind. -- The funeral for Indiana Republican U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski will be held Thursday in her home state of Indiana, where she and three other people were killed in a head-on highway crash.

The funeral is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at Granger Community Church, Palmer Funeral Homes said on its website.

Walorski, who was 58, was in an SUV with two members of her staff on Aug. 3 when it crossed the median of a northern Indiana highway for unknown reasons and collided with an oncoming vehicle near the town of Wakarusa, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said.

Walorski, her 27-year-old staffer Zachery Potts of Mishawaka, who was driving, and her 28-year-old communications director, Emma Thomson of Washington, D.C., all died, as did the woman who was driving the vehicle struck by their SUV.

Potts was Walorski’s district director and the Republican chairman for northern Indiana’s St. Joseph County.

Walorski was first elected to represent northern Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District in 2012 and was seeking reelection this year in the solidly Republican district.

Walorski's husband, Dean Swihart, said in a statement Wednesday that he was "touched by the support and kindness" the family has received since her death.

“Her loss leaves a massive void in our family, our community and in Congress,” Swihart said. “Our family remains focused solely on celebrating Jackie’s memory and mourning her loss as she returns home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb has set a special election to fill the remainder of Walorski's current term running through the rest of this year for the same date as the Nov. 8 general election.

Under Indiana law, it will be up to local Republican officials to decide nominations for the special election and to replace Walorski on the ballot for the full two-year term. The state Republican Party has scheduled an Aug. 20 caucus meeting for those selections. No Republican candidates have yet announced for the seat.

Sen. Graham challenges 2020 Georgia election probe subpoena

ATLANTA -- U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham is challenging a subpoena to testify before a special grand jury that's investigating whether then-President Donald Trump and others broke any laws when they tried to overturn Joe Biden's win in Georgia.

Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, received a subpoena that was issued on July 26 and orders him to appear before the special grand jury to testify on Aug. 23, his lawyers said in a court filing. Graham is seeking to have the challenge to the subpoena heard in federal court in Atlanta rather than before the Fulton County Superior Court judge who’s overseeing the special grand jury.

The senator is one of the Trump allies who Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis wants to question as part of her investigation into what she alleges was “a multi-state, coordinated plan by the Trump Campaign to influence the results of the November 2020 election in Georgia and elsewhere.”

Graham had said repeatedly that he would fight the subpoena once he received it, which happened last week, according to his lawyers. He has denied meddling in Georgia's election.

In a court filing last month, Willis, a Democrat, wrote that Graham made at least two telephone calls to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and members of his staff in the weeks after Trump’s loss to Biden, asking about reexamining certain absentee ballots “to explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome for former President Donald Trump.”

When he made those calls, Graham “was engaged in quintessentially legislative factfinding — both to help him form election-related legislation, including in his role as then-Chair of the Judiciary Committee, and to help inform his vote to certify the election,” his lawyers wrote in a court filing on Friday.

Graham's lawyers cite a provision of the U.S. Constitution that they say “provides absolute protection against inquiry into Senator Graham's legislative acts.” They also argue “sovereign immunity" prevents a local prosecutor from summoning a U.S. senator “to face a state ad hoc investigatory body.” And they assert that Willis has failed to demonstrate “the ‘extraordinary circumstances’ necessary to order a high-ranking federal official to testify.”

Willis' office will respond in court and expects Graham to testify before the special grand jury, spokesperson Jeff DiSantis said.

Given that Graham has been summoned to testify on Aug. 23, his lawyers asked for expedited consideration of his motion to quash. The judge granted that request, setting a hearing for Aug. 10.

Graham had previously filed a federal court challenge in South Carolina to try to stop Willis' efforts to compel him to testify. Before a judge there could hold a hearing, he withdrew that case and agreed to file any challenges to a subpoena in the investigation in either state superior court or federal court in Georgia, according to a court filing.

U.S. Rep. Jody Hice, a Georgia Republican, filed a federal court challenge similar to Graham's after he received a subpoena to testify before the special grand jury. After hearing arguments from his lawyers and from Willis' office, a federal judge last week declined to quash his subpoena.

U.S. District Judge Leigh Martin May, who is also assigned to hear Graham's challenge, sent the matter back to Fulton County Superior Court, saying that there are at least some questions that Hice may be compelled to answer. If disagreements arise over whether Hice is protected under federal law from answering certain questions, he can bring those issues back to her to settle, she said.

Willis has confirmed that the investigation’s scope includes a Jan. 2, 2021, phone call between Trump and Raffensperger during which Trump urged Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to overturn his loss in the state.

“I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have,” Trump said during that call.

Trump has denied any wrongdoing and has repeatedly described his call to Raffensperger as “perfect.”

Willis is also interested in false allegations of election fraud made by former New York mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and others during Georgia legislative committee meetings in December 2020. Jacki Pick Deason, a Dallas-based lawyer and podcaster, spoke at one of those meetings on Dec. 3, 2020.

Willis is trying to compel Deason's testimony. Because she lives outside Georgia, Willis has to use a process that involves getting a judge in Texas to order her to appear. A judge in New York has already ordered Giuliani to testify next week.

In a court filing in Texas last week, Deason argued that she shouldn't be ordered to testify. She cited alleged flaws with the paperwork Willis filed seeking her testimony, argued that a summons to appear before a Georgia special grand jury is not recognized in Texas and said that the demand for her appearance is based on a false assertion that she was a lawyer for the Trump campaign. She also said that it would be an undue burden for her to travel to Atlanta on days when the special grand jury is meeting in August because of professional obligations and other commitments.

Senegal ruling party claims victory in legislative elections

Senegal President Macky Sall's ruling coalition says it won 30 of the country's 46 administrative departments, giving it a majority in parliament following Sunday's legislative election.

Sunday's polls were an important test for Sall after local elections in March saw the opposition win in major cities, including Dakar, Ziguinchor in the south and Thies in the west.

President Macky Sall's ruling coalition claimed victory in Senegal's legislative elections but the opposition rejected the assertion as a "prefabricated majority".

"We won 30 departments" out of the 46 in the west African country and overseas constituencies, Aminata Toure, head of the presidential coalition, told reporters late on Sunday.

"This undoubtedly gives us a majority in the National Assembly."

"We have given a majority in the National Assembly to our coalition president", Sall, she added, without giving the number of seats won by her camp or whether it was an absolute or relative majority.

Toure however acknowledged her coalition had been defeated in the capital Dakar in Sunday's vote.

The opposition was swift in rejecting Toure's claims.

Barthelemy Dias, a leader of the main opposition coalition headed by former presidential candidate Ousmane Sonko, spoke of "vulgar lies" and a "prefabricated majority" on private radio RFM.

The opposition had hoped the elections would impose a cohabitation, or divided government, on Sall and curb any ambitions he may have for a third term.

Some seven million Senegalese were eligible to vote in the election, which passed without any major incidents.

Turnout at several polling stations appeared relatively low, according to AFP news agency correspondents and observers, and the interior ministry said participation had reached 22 percent by 1 pm.

Provisional overall results are expected no later than Friday.

The national election commission has deployed 22,000 observers nationwide. Experts from the regional ECOWAS bloc were also present.

This year, eight coalitions were in the running, including Yewwi Askan Wi ("Liberate the People" in Wolof), the main opposition coalition of Sonko, which came third in the 2019 presidential election.

Ahead of the poll, Yewwi Askan Wi joined forces with Wallu Senegal ("Save Senegal"), led by former president Abdoulaye Wade.

The two groups agreed to work together to obtain a parliamentary majority and "force governmental cohabitation".

West Africa: Buhari in Liberia, Calls for Transparent, Credible Elections in West Africa

According to the president, democracy and good governance must take their roots in the African continent to sustain peace, stability and development.

President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Monrovia, Liberia, called on leaders in West Africa to do all within their powers to ensure that elections are conducted in their countries in an atmosphere of trust, freedom and transparency as this is the only way the sub-region can be insulated from the scourge of unconstitutional takeovers that reared its head in three countries recently.

President Buhari made this call in a goodwill message to the government and people of Liberia as he joined other world leaders on the occasion of the 175th Independence Anniversary of the West African nation.

According to the president, democracy and good governance must take their roots in the African continent to sustain peace, stability and development while leaders must redouble their efforts to guarantee the irreversibility of democracy.

"I would like to use the opportunity of this event to address an important issue affecting three countries in the ECOWAS region; Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

"All the three nations have National Elections in 2023. In Nigeria, we are working towards a free, fair, transparent, credible and acceptable outcome of elections and their results, it is important and necessary for all our countries to key into these resolves as they are indispensable to peace and stability in our countries and sub-region.

"The deepening of democracy and good governance are essential antidotes to check-mate unconstitutional change of governments as we sadly witnessed within the last three years in three countries within our sub-region. We must strengthen our efforts to guarantee the irreversibility of democracy in our sub-region and Africa," he said.

President Buhari used the opportunity to recall Nigeria's leading roles that pulled the country back from its fratricidal insurrection in the 90s, adding that his presence at the celebrations underscores his strong belief in cementing existing bilateral ties:

"Nigeria's contributions to the survival and safety of Liberia are well known. The dark period of your country's civil war from 1989 to 1997, was a period that Nigeria invested hugely for peace in Liberia and indeed stability in the rest of the ECOWAS sub-region. May those dark days never re-surface in our countries and sub-region."

The Nigerian leader commended his Liberian counterpart, George Weah, for his demonstration of love for the country and the pursuance of peace, unity and progress, as evidenced by people-oriented projects executed with the sole purpose of taking the country to greater heights within the limited resources available. While urging the Liberian leader to do more, he assured him of Nigeria's continued support in this regard:
